19 October 2019 – The Final Say March

Demanding a People’s Vote with pro-European friends from all parties and none from Islington and our twin group S&W Yorkshire for Europe. Oh and a million other people!

4 October 2019 – meeting with Jeremy Corbyn MP

A positive hour-long meeting to discuss the Brexit crisis and the Labour party’s role in stopping a no-deal Brexit and securing a new referendum. We relayed the passionate views and concerns of Islington voters.

September/October – leafleting to promote the People’s Vote march

14 September 2019 – visit to Wakefield

To campaign on the street with our twin group South & West Yorkshire for Europe. We also met up with People’s Vote supporter Mary Creagh MP.

14 July 2019 – People’s Vote rally with Emily Thornberry

We were there to support Islington South and Finsbury MP Emily Thornberry as she made her first appearance on a People’s Vote campaign platform, in Boris Johnson’s Uxbridge constituency. Great to hear the commitment that Labour will campaign unequivocally to get a People’s Vote, on whatever Brexit under whatever government, and will campaign unequivocally for Remain.

In advance of the European Parliament elections on 23 May, Islington In Europe ran 30+ sessions at Angel, Archway, Finsbury Park and Highbury & Islington stations, encouraging voter registration and turnout of pro-People’s Vote parties.

Days before MPs were finally asked to vote on the Government’s Brexit deal, Islington In Europe and friends walked the length of the borough – Archway in the North and Farringdon in the South – to send one final message telling Jeremy Corbyn and Emily Thornberry to vote it down and back a People’s Vote.
